Injection Molding

Plastic Injection Molding

Plastic injection molding process; raw material is melted in barrel with the help of temperature then injected into a mold. After cooling, removing plastic product with ejector from mold. Plastic injection molding method is widely used in industrial areas.

Many products, from the smallest products to the largest, can be manufactured using the plastic injection molding.

Mold design and mold manufacturing should be done before starting production with the plastic injection molding. The manufacture of the mold should be done with meticulous and low tolerance values.

Metal injection molding

It is a process in which liquid metals are injected into manufactured molds by pressing them with special machines. Metal injection molding mainly uses metals and alloys such as aluminum, samak (an alloy of zinc and aluminum), brass and magnesium.

The machines that make this process are metal injection molding machines. There are two types of metal injection molding machines; cold and hot chamber metal injection molding machines. Cold chamber machines are commonly used for casting aluminum and brass, hot chamber machines cast samak. The process of a hot-chamber metal injection molding machine is faster than the process of a cold-chamber metal injection molding machine, but it can only cast metals and alloys with a low melting point, such as samak, magnesium, and lead.

The metal injection molding process offers the following advantages:

  • Cost-effective production of large quantities of complex parts
  • Production time is short.
  • A wide range of alloys is available.
  • Injection molding of metal allows the production of large quantities of complex metal shapes.
  • The metal injection molding process is similar to the plastic injection molding process and can produce assembly properties of the same shape.
  • The metal injection mold can also contain several cavities, so the production volume can also be high and the shapes complex.
